oracle 10.2.0.2 on VMS 8.4 Integrity RX2800

Installing Oracle 10.2.0.2 onto Integrity RX2800 with VMS 8.4.

when runinstaller is activated gets so far then gives me this error................

/eddy$dkc2/scratch/orainstall2012-03-08_11-31-39am/orainstall2012-03-08_11_31_39am.out (file currently locked by another user)

I have tried placing the scratch disk on different volumes still gives me this error.

Anybody seen this type of problem before?

Thanks

Re: oracle 10.2.0.2 on VMS 8.4 Integrity RX2800

Hmm, why not use ORACLE Support tools for ORACLE problems.

Specifically look for:

OpenVMS: INSTALLING CRS ON OPENVMS FAILS WITH: FILE CURRENTLY LOCKED BY ANOTHER USER [ID 782672.1]

and if you are 'lucky'

OpenVMS: 10G INSTALL Problems when SCSNODE and TCPIP$INET_HOST are Different [ID 429016.1]

Enjoy,

Hein

Re: oracle 10.2.0.2 on VMS 8.4 Integrity RX2800

Did you use the logical name from the mount command when you specified the scratch disk?

For example disk was mounted like:

$ MOUNT DKC2: MYVOL

Then use "DISK$MYVOL" for the scratch disk name.
