HP a Platinum Sponsor of Cloud Foundry Open Governance Model

Stephen_Spector ‎02-25-2014 06:50 AM - edited ‎10-11-2015 01:25 PM

Yesterday, Pivotal announced the creation of a new Open Governance Model for Cloud Foundry with the support of many industry leaders including HP, which is a Platinum sponsor. This new group will collectively establish an independent non-profit foundation to accelerate the adoption of the Cloud Foundry open source project. In addition, a Cloud Foundry Summit in San Francisco is announced for Mary 2014.

From the post,

“We’re pleased to support the Cloud Foundry foundation as a Platinum member to help drive the creation of the world’s first open governance model for enterprise PaaS. With our rapidly growing community of customers, partners and developers, having an open and flexible platform architecture will enable us to work with more organizations to help them create cloud solutions that are built to their needs and the needs of their customers.” – Bill Hilf, Senior Vice President, Cloud Products and Services, Hewlett Packard

HP’s support of this new initiative as a Platinum member is consistent with our strategy to provide open, enterprise-grade, hybrid cloud solutions. Our vast experience working with open source communities, including as a founding Platinum member of the OpenStack Foundation, enables HP to help Cloud Foundry grow its community. HP believes our customers are best served with an open and flexible architecture, enabling them to deliver cloud applications that drive greater business agility and growth.
