OpenStack Summit Recap – Not just another Cloud conference

Over 3,000 “stackers” gathered in Hong Kong last week to collaborate for the future and celebrate the past. With Havana’s availability, the OpenStack® community has completed eight product releases and is now delivering cloud services for millions of global customers. HP was there from the start providing leadership, developers, testers, and equipment to help enable the growth of the fastest open source project in history.

The HP keynote presented by Distinguished Technologist and OpenStack leader Monty Taylor focused on the critical role the community plays in not just creating a solution but also establishing a formula that enables the rapid growth and success of OpenStack.

Last week, we announced the availability of a new management console for the Public Cloud using the OpenStack product Horizon; a console built by and for the OpenStack community. HP Cloud OS, the technology foundation for the HP hybrid cloud architecture, is also leveraging OpenStack Horizon and is available via the Cloud OS technology preview.

At this event, HP developers and architects provided guidance and feedback on many aspects of the solution and community. These sessions are all available for viewing should you be interested in learning more about OpenStack and HP’s role.
