We have inserted the card and connected the housing. When the server boots we get this message:
> ALERT LEVEL: 6 = Boot possible, pending failure - action required
>
> REASON FOR ALERT
> SOURCE: 8 = I/O
> SOURCE DETAIL: 3 = local bus adapter SOURCE ID: FF
> PROBLEM DETAIL: 6 = configuration error
>
> LEDs: RUN ATTENTION FAULT REMOTE POWER
> FLASH FLASH OFF ON ON
> LED State: Running non-OS code. Non-critical error detected.
> Check Chassis and Console Logs for error messages.

Once booted we are unable to see the drives.
Can anyone point us in the right direction?

Re: Adding SCSI Ultra 160 A6828A to rp2470
Thanks for your quick response. Can you please expand your response?
What is HBA?
What is PDC?
How do I find out what version of PDC is running?
Thanks,
Jim.

Re: Adding SCSI Ultra 160 A6828A to rp2470
PDC is the firmware for your system. You will see it in the boot menu like this:
FIRMWARE INFORMATION
Firmware Version: 43.50
or from the running system, if you do
echo "selclass qualifier cpu;info;wait;il"|cstm
and search the result for "PDC".
I don't know what your hp-ux version is, but maybe you need also some patches to make this up and running.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Solution"For 11.00, you need PHKL_25014 and PHKL_25023 patches. For 11i v1, you need PHCO_25831, PHKL_24854, and PHKL_25218 patches; or March 2002 HWE for 11.0 or 11i v1 (as applicable)."
Patches may have newer versions now.
