GSP TELNET Settings

Recently went to an HP Class (System Admin II) and we used the GSP lan telnet to do everything. After returning I set up my GSP and am able to telnet but I cannot do VI ...the screen looks funky. Any suggestions on setting that may correct this...

Re: GSP TELNET Settings

Hi,

This is due to your TERM setting. Run the following

echo $TERM

then check the terminal emulation you're using on the terminal or PC running emulation.
Let's say that the command returns vt100 & the terminal is set for hp - then run

export TERM=hp
echo $TERM

When they match you should be AOK from that point on.

HTH,
Jeff

Re: GSP TELNET Settings

I discovered this too. I went and changed the default setting on the GSP to be VT100. All is working fine ...thanks
