Re: RP 3440 RED system LED

Hi

Looks like there is some hardware issue on the server. I think a call needs to be placed and HP to look into this issue.

Clearing the log withour fixing the problem is not correct, HP engineer can help you better.

Re: RP 3440 RED system LED

Your entries of the error log are alert level 0 or 1 that should not cause flashing the system red LED. So some other higher level (normally alert level 7) of events probably were logged and it caused flashing the system red LED. I would suggest you wil capture full SEL copy and contact HP support center. They can decode the error entries correctly by using the tool.

Thanks for your contributions
In fact none of the alert are above level 1
Anyway we have cleared the error log and cold rebooted, now it is OK (Green)
We will also use the Support Tool Manager to run an excercise tests on the hardware..

Re: RP 3440 RED system LED

The rp3410/rp3440 guide includes Chapter 3 which explains the LEDs.
http://www.docs.hp.com/hpux/onlinedocs/A7136-96005/A7136-96005.pdf This may help you as well.

Regarding the ERR_CPU_POLL_SUMMARY messages, these should be eliminated with the June 2004 (A.45.00) version of Diagnostics/STM. The STM patch PHSS_31114 fixes a widely known issue where a ia64_corehw process spawns a defunct process.

Regarding the PAT_ENCODED_FIELD_MINOR_FWD_PROG message, these should be eliminated with the latest firmware upgrade. See PHSS_30838 (for 11.11) which delivers PDC revision 44.24 http://www2.itrc.hp.com/service/patch/patchDetail.do?BC=patch.breadcrumb.main|patch.breadcrumb.search|&patchid=PHSS_30838&context=firmware:osinit
