I just got in a brand new HP9000 K380 class machine that has two preinstalled hard drives in it, one is supposed to have HPUX 11 preinstalled on it. When I boot the machine I get to the main menu on my console but when I perform the search function to search for bootable devices none of my hard drives are listed. I boot to a HPUX 11.0 CD to try and install the operating system and it also tells me there are no hard drives connected. What do I need to do so that it recognizes the hard drives that are in the machine?

Solution
I assume that the two drives are 'internal' i.e. inside the K box and visible through the window at the front.
These are connected internally via the personality card. Does the FWD SCSI connector on the personality card have a terminated fitted?
If not, fit one and try SEA again. If so, get HP to check out the hardware.
Regards,
John
