predictive support warning

Hello,
We are using HP3000 937RX, MPE/iX 6.0 and am getting Predictive Support warning as follows:

WARNING DISKTRAK(100)
Disk space tracker alert! Disk space used on volumeset MPEXL_SYSTEM_VOLUME_SET is at 92 percent.: X010

Should I just call support or can someone help me here?

Re: predictive support warning

We can help you...........

In all probably your lack of disk space is due to a combination of 3 things:

1. Too many log files
2. Too many NMLG files
3. Too many spoolfiles.

After storing your log files and NMLG files use the purge command

PURGE LOG##@.PUB.SYS
PURGE NMLG##@.PUB.SYS

Next look at your spoolfiles in OUT.SYS. Print what you want, purge the old ones.

This should recover a big chunk of disk space. Use the command

DISCFREE

followed by

D,,MPEXL_SYSTEM_VOLUME_SET

To see how much you recovered.
