How do I send a test event from ESXi host, to confirm HP SIM monitoring is working?

I have a customer who is unsure if their (4.0) ESXi blade servers are sending WBEM alerts back to HP SIM.

I have looked at the following document from VMware’s KB but it talks about using SNMP.

The HP ESXi image does not support SNMP but uses WBEM, so this document isn’t all that useful for me.

Can anybody suggest a method of initiating a test event from an ESXi host back to HP SIM?

Please give some explicit instructions, because I am not a VMware expert.
