SNMP Event from fiber switch reported in one SIM but not in other

We have 2 HP SIM setups managing an equal set of hardware components (in fact these are 2 Matrix's).

Per site 2 HP fiber switches report SNMP events to the corresponding CMS. For each fiber switch port disable/enable action, two different SNMP events are send out to the CMS (traced using wireshark). On the first CMS this results in 2 SIM events being reported:

1. (SNMP) Generic Unregistered

2. connUnitPortStatusChange

On the second CMS only the 2nd event is reported.

I have extensively verified that we have at least the same set of MIB's on both CMS's, but still the difference in event reporting keeps being arround.

Firmware revisions on all fiber switches are the same, as are their SNMP setups (snmpv1).

Any hints as to how I could troubleshoot this issue?

Kind regards,

Re: SNMP Event from fiber switch reported in one SIM but not in other

Stupid me, very easily fixed:

HP SIM, Options, Events, Event Filter Settings, Changing "Accept unregistered events" to disabled makes the genericEvents go away.
