Difference between family of CNA driver
What is the significance of 4.1 & 4.2 in the following driver versions for CNA's?
4.1.450.16
4.2.401.6

Re: Difference between family of CNA driver
Those look like Emulex version numbers which i think are now at 4.6
The main thing to keep in mind is your driver needs to be from the same family. So if you are updating firmware to 4.2, you need to have 4.2 drivers as well.
I worked with someone who had 4.2 driver and 4.1 firmware and it was causing PSOD on boot with ESXi 5.1. Upgraded to 4.2 Firmware and it was fixed.

Re: Difference between family of CNA driver
So if I read you reply correctly, is the following true?
Is the significance of the 3rd value tied in any way to a date?
For instance, and I am making up the version numbers, but would 4.1.520.7 be a later release that say 4.2.499.7?

Re: Difference between family of CNA driver
You need to find the individual Release Date of each to figure that out.
