Driver for QMH2562 QLogic HBA with Windows 2003 R2 64-bit
Lucinda had a driver issue:
**************************
Hi all,
I have an urgent blade install in progress. The blade servers are a BL860c i2 running HP-UX v.3, and 7 BL460c G6’s, --4 running Citrix, 2 running ESX 4.1, and one running Windows 2003 R2 64-bit. The HP-UX, ESX, and Windows servers have the QMH2562 QLogic Fiber Channel HBA. The enclosure has the Virtual Connect 8Gb 24-port module in Bays 3 & 4. There are 2 8GB SFP’s in each module, in X2 and X3. Fiber cables are connected and both the SAN switches and the Virtual Connect Manager show good FC connectivity.
But when the customer loaded windows, starting with Smartstart 8.60, the OS did not recognize the QMH2562. Going to the HP website for drivers for that HBA and OS, we see Storport drivers version 9.1.7.17 and 9.1.7. 29. When they tried to load either of these drivers, the OS said they were wrong for that OS. They also tried 9.1.8.19 with a similar rejection. Finally they tried 9.1.8.28 and with some manual intervention it did install. But they were not at all confident because the they had to work around some different warnings. They will test this tomorrow when the SAN folks try to present LUN’s.
They have not loaded ESX or worked with HPUX yet.
Can you give us any advice about the correct drivers for the QMH2562?? They have software folks flying in next Monday so they have to resolve this issue by tomorrow!
All feedback will be greatly appreciated!

Larry:
Are you sure you were looking at the right page for the drivers? You need to get the driver for Windows 2003 x64 (64 Bit Extended), as opposed to Windows 2003 64 bit Edition which is the Itanium driver. If I select Windows 2003 64 bit Edition (Itanium), I see drivers for 9.1.7.17 and 9.1.7.29 just as you noted. But going to the Windows 2003 x64 drivers, there is a driver for 9.1.8.28 which is the one you want. The link for this is below:
And then Alexandr chimed in:
You must install SP2 for Windows 2003 64 bit (WindowsServer2003.WindowsXP-KB914961-SP2-x64-ENU.exe),next install Windows Storport patch (WindowsServer2003.WindowsXP-KB932755-x64-ENU.exe and ProLiant Support Pack (PSP)
