FDR InfiniBand ... can you stack interconnects

An InfiniBand question from Greg:

Customer would like to know if they can stack FDR (managed) interconnects between enclosures to provide higher aggregate speed to other enclosures.

You may connect multiply enclosures in single Infiniband fabric with oversubscription up to 1:1 (max bandwidth)

 

For 2 enclosures you may simply connect FDR switches from first enclosure to another.

For more than 2 enclosures you should use external FDR switches and build “FAT- Tree” network
