HP ProLiant BL460c G5 upgrade network driver
Hi guys,
I have question about compatibility drivers for HP ProLiant BL460c G5 and HP ProLiant BL460c G6. We have HP ProLiant BL460c G5 and we want upgrade network drivers. The last driver version for HP NC373i device is 7.4.14.0 (B)
19 Feb 2013 and the last version in download page of HP ProLiant BL460c G5 is this driver, so this is correctly. BUT, this driver is avaliable on other link like 'alone driver' in new version: 7.8.50.0 (D)16 May 2014 !
This is link: NC373i download page
My question is, if can install new this driver 7.8.50.0 (D)16 May 2014 to HP ProLiant BL460c G5?
P.S. This thread has been moved from ProLiant Servers (ML,DL,SL) to HP BladeSystem Server Blades. - Hp Forum Moderator

Re: HP ProLiant BL460c G5 upgrade network driver
Hi,
If your NIC is listed under Supported Devices in Release Notes, then you can use this driver.
Some times what happens is they may not update the web pages on older servers so you may not see the latest drivers on the server page.
Thank You!
I am a HP employee.

Re: HP ProLiant BL460c G5 upgrade network driver
Hi,
here is my responding to this case:
We have HP ProLiant BL460c G5 with Windows Server 2008 R2 + Forefront Threat Management Gateway (TMG) 2010.
We wanted upgrade driver from 7.4.14.0 (B) 19 Feb 2013 to 7.8.50.0 (D)16 May 2014 and first look was OK. After upgrade all network adapters works fine, BUT: after 1 hour internal adapter is stop working. In Windows network LAN status is no new packages to sent / recievet and you can't ping any server to internal domani (for example domain controller etc..). In Event Viewer is no useful information, why traffic is stopping.
If you have for example simple file server on Windows Server 2012, this driver is probably OK, we don't know.
In this case, was upgrading driver bad decision, because we must restoring Windows Image Backup for Windows Server 2008 R2.
I don't recommend upgrading, if is this not urgently or you has other reason!
Best regards
