Safely upgrading Virtual Connect Module on c7000 enclosure from firmware 3.18 into 4.10 ?
Hi All,
Can anyone here please share the experience and the steps that can be taken during the Virtual Connect module firmware upgrade using VCSU v1.9.0 ?
My current setup is HP VC FlexFabric 10Gb/24-Port Module (firmware v3.18) based on the latest SPP DVD ISO September 2013, I can see that version: 4.10 (10 Sep 2013) is available.
What are the caveats and what else do I need to be aware of to avoid major production VM outage since I only have one Blade enclosure HP c7000 G2 (OBA Tray firmware v 1.7 and Insight Display v2.5.3) hosting 16x HP BL 490c G7 ?
I've never done this before, and I assume that the VCSU can intelligently update the VC module one by one safely and retaining the server profiles, Network zones and its settings without having to manually configure the VLAN and network one by one.

Re: Safely upgrading Virtual Connect Module on c7000 enclosure from firmware 3.18 into 4.10 ?
or do I have to do the step by steps upgrade to avoid any lost of setting or outage by performing the firmware upgrade in the steps as below:
Version:3.30 (7 Sep 2011)
Version:3.51 (16 Jan 2012)
Version:3.60 (4 Jun 2012)
Version:3.70 (4 Sep 2012)
Version:3.75 (19 Feb 2013)
Version:4.01 (10 Jun 2013)
up to v 4.10 ?
what about to the network connectivity served by the other FlexFabric VC module ? is there any effects on my production VM ?
