What is the "TAA" mean for a Virtual Connect module?

Karene also had this question regarding different VC FlexFabric part numbers:

**********

And then it lists 2 version:

691367-B21

HP Virtual Connect FlexFabric-20/40 F8 Module for c-Class BladeSystem

691367-B22

HP Virtual Connect FlexFabric-20/40 F8 Module for c-Class BladeSystem with TAA

What is difference “with TAA”?

TAA just means final assembly of components is done in a country designated by the Trade Agreements Act.

This excludes China for example.

Shamelessly stolen from Ed, who is a Federal Solution Architect:

GSA Schedule Contracts are subject to the Trade Agreements Act (TAA), meaning all products listed on the GSA Schedule Contract be manufactured or "substantially transformed” in a "designated country”.

The designated countries are composed of:

  • World Trade Organization Government Procurement Agreement Countries;
  • Free Trade Agreement Countries;
  • Least Developed Countries; and
  • Caribbean Basin Countries

Because the final assembly is not done in China, TAA costs a little bit more than the regular version.

The CarePaq Uplift is likely also a little bit higher for the TAA version as well since any replacement hardware would also have to be TAA certified.
