Re: ESXi 5.0 hands during boot on BL620c G7
Hello,
That's the one I'm using: OneConnect-Flash-4.0.360.15a.iso
Flashing is completed without errors on all blades.
Thanks

Try upgrading the server’s BIOS to the latest version dated 2011.05.23 (B) from the following link:

Re: ESXi 5.0 hands during boot on BL620c G7
Hello,
Right, forgot to mention that I have 05/23/2011 on BIOS which is the second newest BIOS. The later version does not have any related fixes what I could see.
I have received the advice to upgrade Virtual Connect to a newer version. Planning that right now...
Thanks
/Björn

Re: ESXi 5.0 hands during boot on BL620c G7
Bjorn, we had similar problem .. are you using ESXi 5.0 from VMware or from HP as bundle ?? because we found following .. when we use ESXi 5.0 from HP, vmnic5 was missing and booting of ESXi was hunging at this component .. we tried everythink, but this nic still missing .. after install ESXi 5.0 from VMware, not from HP bundle vmnic5 was apear and everythink was working .. maybe was there problem, in HP image is bug :) .. we send that to HP for solving problem and waiting for solution ..
if you using HP ESXi 5.0, try to use origin from VMware :) ..

Re: ESXi 5.0 hands during boot on BL620c G7
Hello,
Yes, I use the latest ESXi bundle. My next step is actually to go with your tips and use the VMware iso for install and then update NIC driver to the right version.
But, if I change the server profile to NOT use VLAN tagging, I cannot provoke the problem.
I have a case open with HP Support and they will talk to VMware...
thanks

Re: ESXi 5.0 hands during boot on BL620c G7
Hi everybody;
I have the same problem with BL620G7, I installed ESXi5 using iso file 5.0_Oct_2011_ESXi_HD-USB-SDImgeInstlr_Z7550-00253. This version installed Emulex Driver 4.0.355.1-1OEM.500.0.0.406165 but I find the new driver Build Number 487292, I´m testing in this moment.
http://downloads.vmware.com/d/details/dt_esxi50_emulex_be2net_403551/dHRAYnQqQHBiZHAlJQ
anyone know if this new driver fixes this problem?
regards
Danny
