Which Kind of Switch?

Hi there,

we have got a C300 with 3x BL460c with one CPU each and we need to upgrade the network to 10GB.

Now we have got a FlexFabric 10Gb 2-port 55AM Adapter (647590-B21) for each Server.
But the BladeSwitch doesn't work

At Bay 1 & 2 is a 10GB Ethernet Blade Switch (445860-B21).

Why doesn't work it? Wich Kind of Switch i should use?

Also we have got a BLc 1:10Gb Enet Switch (438031-B21)

Thank you.

Re: Which Kind of Switch?

Hello,

the FlexFabric Adapter is supported in a BL460cGen8 Server. If your Blade has a lower Generation Number it will not work.

Please provice more details about your Blade server, Partnumber would be nice.

Both Onboard NICs are mapped to Bay1. The first Mezzanine Card will go to Bay2 and the second Mezzanine Card goes to Bay 3 + 4.

Re: Which Kind of Switch?

Hello,

the 10GB switch you mentioned is only supported in Bay 3 + 4 in C3000 Chassis.

The 1/10 GB Switch is supported in Bay 1 + 2 but has only 1G to the server and 10G to the external network switch.

For 10G connectivity to the server you need Flex 10/10D modules or HP 6120XG Blade Switch, HPE 6125XLG Ethernet Blade Switch or HP 6127XLG Blade Switch.
