installing service packs & PSPs

When installing a windows service pack on Windows 2008 R2(in this case SP1), do I have to reinstall the proliant support pack? I think this was the case on windows 2003, but I wanted to know if this is needed on 2008 R2

Re: installing service packs & PSPs

If this is a new build... I would install the Service Pack first, then install the latest PSP.

If this is an existing System... I might still re-install the latest PSP after installing the Service Pack just to be on the save side.

Windows Server 2008 R2 Service pack 1 has been out for some time now and there have been at least 3 or 4 new PSP's since.

I think by default, the SP Installer doesn't overwrite newer drivers so you should probably be ok unless your PSP is older.
