REST API newbie. Want to get started with Rest API vs OneView

I have reviewed the Rest API help info in OneView.  It looks like I can do most tasks in OneView with the Rest API.   The Rest API syntax seems simple.  What I don't know is what I should be using to script these commands with OneView?

Is there a simple well known scripting language that I should start with?  If so,  does anyone have any sample OneView Rest API scripts they can post for reference?
