SERVICE MANAGER RTE E PKCS12_pbe_crypt() failed in desDecryptPasswordFieldWithMD5AndDes()

[ Edited ]

Hi experts,

This morning we got the following error in our sm.log. Also there are many end-user that coudn't get logged in SM9.21.

Does anybody know what this error means and how we can solve this?

Michael

Re: SERVICE MANAGER RTE E PKCS12_pbe_crypt() failed in desDecryptPasswordFieldWithMD5AndDes()

Hello Michael,

this is a possible server memory leak.

PROBLEM: Server memory leak when the password decryption fails with error message "RTE E PKCS12_pbe_crypt() failed in desDecryptPasswordFieldWithMD5AndDes()"

SOLUTION: When PKCS12_pbe_crypt fails, clean up sBinarySource (reported by memdebug)

What does "clean up sBinarySource" mean?

This is a known defect and it was fixed by QCCR1E74101 "Users cannot log in after starting a servlet, and the following message is logged: RTE E EVP_PBE_CipherInit() failed in desEncryptPasswordFieldWithMD5AndDes()".

The customer notes of the CR says:

This issue occurred because of a concurrent call to the OpenSSL crypto library.

This fix was released in SC6.2.8.12, SM7.11P19HF6, SM7.11P20, SM9.21P6, SM9.30P3HF10, SM9.30P4HF2, SM9.30P5.
