Installing Multipathing module on ESXi 5.5
Hi,
I was attempting to start the install of the Storevirtual multipathing module to a single host today. The instructions stated to run this command:
esxcli software acceptance set --level=VMwareAccepted
Unfortuantely, this generates an error:
Unable to set acceptance level of accepted due to installed VIBs Hewlett-Packard_bootbank_scsi-hpvsa_5.5.0-84OEM.550.0.0.1198611, Hewlett-Packard_bootbank_hptestevent_5.5.0.01-00.01.4.1198610, Hewlett-Packard_bootbank_hponcfg_5.5.0.04-00.12.5.1198610, Hewlett-Packard_bootbank_hpbootcfg_5.5.0.02-00.00.11.1198610, Hewlett-Packard_bootbank_hp-esxi-fc-enablement_550.1.6.19-1198610, Hewlett-Packard_bootbank_char-hpilo_550.9.0.1.6-1OEM.550.0.0.1198610, Hewlett-Packard_bootbank_hp-build_5.73.21-1198610, Mellanox_bootbank_net-mst_2.0.0.0-1OEM.550.0.0.472560, Hewlett-Packard_bootbank_hp-ams_550.9.5.0-26.1198610, Hewlett-Packard_bootbank_hpnmi_550.2.3.5-1198610, Hewlett-Packard_bootbank_hpssacli_1.60.17.0-5.5.0.1198610, Hewlett-Packard_bootbank_char-hpcru_5.5.5.4-1OEM.550.0.0.1198610 having a lower acceptance level.
Please refer to the log file for more details.

Really not sure how to proceed short of calling HP support for assistance and navigating through their automated phone system.

Re: Installing Multipathing module on ESXi 5.5
I did run into the same issue and the solution was to install the mem without changing the acceptance level; i.e. skipping the step to set the acceptance level.

Re: Installing Multipathing module on ESXi 5.5
Well trying this was a bad idea! After installing the MEM driver on a host and rebooting the host most of my datastores are gone from the host. I didn't even enable the driver on any of the datastores either.
Time to uninstall. Hope the datastores show up again
There's another forum post with people discussing this driver. Definitely don't use it.
