LeftHand OS 12.5 Quorum Witness Error

Hi,

i am running Software Version 12.5 on HP StoreVirtual VSA.

I would like to use the new Quorum Witness for my 2-node Cluster.

During the Configuration of the Quorum Witness i get the following error:

Failed to connect to the host for the Quorum Witness while testing configuration.

Please re-configure the Quorum Witness again. Configuration failed, please check server connectivity or permissions.

On the NFS Share everyone has Full Control.

I also tested the ping from the VSAs to the Server with the NFS Share -> Ping is OK.

I entered the following Directory Path (like mentioned in the hint): 10.1.12.11:/Quorum

Please help.

I'm having a problem with win 2008 r2. With win 2012 R2 I've made it working.

Using the Quorum Witness

Configuration Requirements for using the Quorum Witness

• NFS Version 3

• Network location that has a different network path than the iSCSI path

• A separate NFS file share for the Quorum Witness file. The share should have write permissions.

  One directory can have multiple Quorum Witness files with different names.

  Conversely, you can use the same file name in different NFS share directories.

• Ensure that network latency is lower than 320 ms.

Install a Quorum Witness for a two-system management group in one of the following ways:

• Adding it in the Create a Management Group window of the Management Group, Clusters, and Volumes wizard

  1. Select Quorum Witness and click Configure Quorum Witness on the Create Management Group window of the Management Groups, Clusters, and Volumes Wizard.

• Changing an existing two-system management group, that is using either a Virtual Manager or a Failover Manager, to use a Quorum Witness

  1. First, remove the Failover Manager or the Virtual Manager from the management group.

  2. Right-click on the management group and select Configure Quorum Witness.

Configuring a Quorum Witness

1. Select the type of file name for the Quorum Witness, Default or Custom.

2. Enter the directory name, using the IP address of the NFS file share and the directory name.

3. (Optional) Enter the Custom file name.

4. Click OK to finish.

5. Confirm the Quorum Witness directory and file name on the management group Details tab.

After configuring a Quorum Witness, do not change the NFS share permissions or make any changes to the file

I have also problems configuring the nfs share on a windows server 2012 R2 with nfs services. I get the error: "Faild to connect to the host for the Quorum Witness while storingconfiguration. Please re-configure the Quorum Witness again. Configuration failed, please check server connectivity or permissions."

Can sombody post a working nfs share permission configuration. Mine is as seen in screenshot.
