HP Universal CMDB (UCMDB) and HP Service Anywhere (SAW): What the Integration Means for You

Did you know that HP Universal CMDB (UCMDB) and HP Service Anywhere (SAW) can work together to give you the perfect solution to elevate the investment you make for an on-premise Configuration Management System, to be used also on the cloud with HP Service Anywhere?

The HP Service Anywhere Push Integration is making life in the world of IT easier and more fulfilling for users by bridging the on-premise and off-premise worlds, in an easy and straight forward way.

Think simplicity and efficiency. One proven way to achieve your goal would be to use a Connect-It based integration as your middle man, however if you have already standardize on using the UCMDB integration studio for other UCMDB integrations, you can instead use the direct integration from HP UCMDB to HP Service Anywhere (SAW), and apply the same methodology you are already used to.

The direct integration uses the standard “push” capabilities of HP UMCDB that are used by many other integrations and controlled via the UCMDB integration studio. Just how does it work?

The UCMDB Push Engine:

  • Retrieves the required data from the UCMDB, using the given TQL query.
  • Filters the data to include only the data that has changed since the last execution of this synchronization.
  • Splits the data into multiple chunks without breaking consistency.
  • Sends the information using the Probe

Whether you want to share information on hardware, installed software, running software, business services or a combination of all of the above, this new integration ensures HP Service Anywhere is kept up-to-date with actual, precise, up-to-date discovered and logical data in your environment. You can enjoy out-of-the-box mapping of business services, applications, software and hardware components, and quickly discover the relationships between them. The integration simultaneously creates an inventory for your IT environment while providing a cloud-based service desk designed to cater to any of your IT questions or concerns.

Best of all? The integration is easily customizable to fit your organizations particular needs.
