How a service catalog and/or an ITSM dashboard can help you in two new videos

Service Catalog portals, automated request fulfillment, and the Service Portfolio Management ITIL process are arguably amongst the hottest ITSM implementation topics. A short video on the HP Service Request Catalog provides a quick overview of how you can you could use this to complement your service desk today.

 

You can also watch how service desk dashboards can help improve your efficiency and present IT service management (ITSM) information more effectively. You can easily create dashboards and custom views that align with your ITIL processes such as change management.

 

Both help you manage your ITSM and ITIL processes more effectively. Here is a simple example, the service request catalog portal can also be used for entering self-service tickets. This could then result in an incident management sequence being initiated. On the operations side, the MySM dashboard can then be easily customized to show summaries of incident or problem management.

The My SM demo video is showing functionality that is no longer supported, and has not been supported for more than a year.

The video shows a Change Management dashboard that includes a record list on the MySM screen. With the 9.30 release in June 2011, the option to add record list elements to MySM was removed from Service Manager and record list components are no longer a feature of the dashboard.

Great catch. You are correct.  The record list functionality was dropped due to performance related considerations. The rest of MySM does remain supported. We will adjust the video as appropriate.
