Plug for HP's "Transforming IT Blog"

I got a question yesterday about ROI (return on investment). We have had customers realize significant improvements on key metrics that have a direct association with ROI. But my response to the ROI question was that dramatic ROI improvements typically go along with dramatic process improvements. And when you have solid, standardized processes, some of these can be then automated which can provide further dramatic ROI. But, there isn't anything revolutionary with this statement.


How does this relate to the teaser. The couple of blog posts that I read above, including a couple by Stuart, were more strategic in nature. So again, I recommend checking out the HP Transforming IT Blog.




P.S. Thinking of ROI, self-service is clearly an area that can provide an impressive ROI to IT, but there are arguments about this shifting costs from IT to the end-users when only dealing with break-fix interactions. Automating self-service request management is a hot topic for multiple reasons and a winner for all (in my opinion). Knowledge Management can provide impressive ROI, but there are different dimensions to this that will have to wait for another day.
