What’s New in HP SM-SAP Solution Manager Exchange 1.10

Incident management in enterprises today consists of disconnected Incident management systems that often implement divergent processes. This situation diminishes collaboration within IT operations, lowers quality of service and productivity.


The HP SM-SAP Solution Manager Exchange provides a cohesive Incident Management solution for the entire enterprise, resulting in higher enterprise availability, improved service quality and reduced IT costs.


HP SM-SAP Solution Manager Exchange builds a dynamic link between HP Service Manager and SAP Solution Manager Service Desk and improves the Incident Management Process throughout the entire enterprise. With the Incident exchange, we allows all the Incidents to be managed in HP Service Manager, including the Incidents created by SAP power user, who create an incident as SAP front ends.


The integration together with other HP Software Service Manager solutions, e.g. BP4SM can be nicely integrated with the Enterprise Incident Exchange and other process flows in conjunction with HP Software CLIP ( Closed loop Incident Process)


Moreover, for the HP SAP Hybrid cloud strategy, the Incident exchange provided by SM-SAP Solution Manager Exchange nicely fits into the story.

HP SM-SAP Solution Manager Exchange can be integrated into HP Converged Cloud solutions to address  SAP to be embedded in Automation Workflow Decision approval process . Via the Incident Exchange with SAP Solution Manager you get appropriate information or approval when automatic deployment actions have to follow an incident . An incident can be registered in the HP Service manager either manual or via monitoring integration with HP SW BSM & SAP Solution Manager MAI ( new Solution Manager 7.1 Monitoring Alerting Interface )  or CCMS ( legacy SAP monitoring environment ).


HP SM-SAP Solution Manager Exchange 1.10 offers additional platform support:


  • Provides support for SAP Solution Manager 7.10
  • Provides support for SQL Server 2008
  • Provides support for Oracle 11
  • Provides support for Windows 2008


This version also offers the following new feature:

  • Adds the integration to Service Manager Integration Suite (SMIS)


SMIS can provide centralized management and configuration of all instances of integrations that are configurable in SMIS. By interacting with SMIS, you can control the behavior of UI components for the integration, such as menu options or buttons. The SMSAP instance in SMIS integration is used to enable and disable the SM-SAP Solution Manager Exchange. By configuring the SMSAP instance, you can also specify the integration parameters such as accessing URL and SAP Solution Manager clients.
