Is their a diffent approach to deployments when doing so with the gen 8 servers ?

So the intelligent provisioning is only around drivers and firmware ?

RDP is a totally managed solution and can inject all the drivers etc. What the Gen 8 does though is has the drivers embedded so if you went with install media to the server (i.e. Windows 2008 DVD) you would have the drivers there ready to go :)
