HP SIM 5.0 installation hangs
hi
i am installing hp sim 5.0 (fresh install) on 2003 sp1 hp proliant dl380 box and i have twice now had it hang at the stage where HP SIM 5.0 installation is initializing the database and is creating default reports.
the first time it happened i cancelled out (it ran for nearly 12 hours) and removed everything and reinstalled the whole HP sim package, this time successfully but when running hp sim, i could not schedule automatic system identifier (logs said tool could not be found) and some other menu items were missing as well at which point i decided to remove the whole installation, reboot and start again but this time it is again hanging at the initializing database stage.
has anyone else had this issue?
here is an extract from the hpsim.log

Re: HP SIM 5.0 installation hangs
at the 4th attempt the installation completed successfully.
I have run into other problems
* The Version Control Repository Manager (VCRM) was not found on any discovered systems.
* no VC agents can detect the VCRM
* cannot created automatic discovery (it says i cannot save the task
* when running first time wizzard it does not run the automatic discovery and informs me - Tool not found, it is either invalid or no longer exist
i will look in the forum for possible solutions first
thanks
