How to migrate HP SIM to a new server

We just installed a new server for our new HP SIM. The old installation runs fine bur the server is end of life.

Is there a procedure how to move all the data and the settings to the new server or is it better to reconfig the new server from scratch?

Both HP SIM version are the same 7.5.0.

I hope someone can point me in the correct direction!

Regards,

P

Re: How to migrate HP SIM to a new server

Hello,

There is a guide to let SIM use a moved database, this can be used first stop de SIM service on the old SIM server.

Now go to the new SIM server and edit the following files to reflect the settings for the database the old SIM server uses.

Be aware you need to change the database, instance and port info in the files below:

1) go to C:\program files\HP\Systems Insight\Manager\config
2) edit database.admin
3) change hp.Database.hostName=
4) change hp.Database.instance=
5) edit database.props
6) change hp.Database.hostName=
7) change hp.Database.instance=
8) Edit *-ds.xml with new hostname and instance (in\jboss\server\hpsim\deploy)
-and-
there may be another file with a name like "tmpXXXXXpmp-ds.xml" in the folder \jboss\server\hpsim\tmp\deploy\ that you also should update.
10) START the HP SIM Service
11) wait for port 50000 to open
12) test.

This text was pasted from user Fick in this forum. Also look if you have the right credentials to connect to the old database.

Kind regards,

Andrew
