Redhat Linux root password changed. Now hpsim won't start.

The root password was changed on the system where hpsim lives. When I run "service hpsim start" it looks like the process is starting but the system does not come back with an [ok]. The root prompt just appears. I scan /var/log/messages for errors, but there are none. I tried resetting the dbuser password using "mxpassword -a -x MxDBUserPassword=password" but that didn't make any difference.

The pgsql postmaster process is running, but no mx processes.

Unfortunately ~ or, fortunately for you, I've encountered this on many occasions.

Please refer to the attached PDF, as to how to use mxpassword -g to make the required changes, after the root user (or whatever user was leveraged to install SIM) has a password change.
