I've read up on the DVD creation process and want to give it a try.
BUT I no longer have a DVD writer available on HP-UX or Linux.
Can I burn the DVD using a Windows workstation?
If so, what steps need to be completed on the Unix host and then on the Windows host.
Cheers

Solution
Yes you can burn the DVD from a Windows machine. I have done MANY of those without any problems.
Go through all the steps EXCEPT the step that burns to the DVD on HP-UX (create the ISO image and do the instl_combine command). Then take that ISO image and copy it to your PC.
When burning the DVD be sure to choose the option to "create dvd from an ISO image" or whatever theh similar option is for your software.
Attached is a document I did on creating DVDs from a make_tape_recovery tape.

Re: Creating bootable DVD for hp-ux 11 with a twist
Patrick thanks for the document. I had seen it but missed that last part where it answered my question.
Many ppl have said it works so I'll give you the points right away.
Cheers,
Kevin
