Team,
We have 8 11iv3 servers each of 600GB hdd, if we take drd of all hosts its consuming almost 5TB of storage.
Any alternate solution for the same ?

Re: DRD takes whole internal disk size
Whats the problem?
DRD takes the complete disk or LUN. If you create 8x 600GB LUNs, it makes aroung 5TB.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: DRD takes whole internal disk size
The problem is we need to reserve 5TB of space for DRD alone.
The other thing is Ignite Server which we can think of.
What is best DRD or Ignite ?

Re: DRD takes whole internal disk size
If the needed space for vg00 is smaller, you can try a smaller destination disk.

It depends.
You need to restore an ignite image, but you can just boot a DRD clone.
Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: DRD takes whole internal disk size
Hi,
Reply from HP
Typically we need to use same size disk as while taking the drd clone this will check the LVM structure .
IF the current disk is 600 GB then LVM structure (VG) is having that date and it will not allow to clone with disk which is having less size .
You can check the size if VG from vgdisplay command output and need to assign a LUN which is having same size or large size .
