Hopefully you are only backing up vg00 and not all of the user data filesystems.

Re: How to take ignite backup
Hi,
As posted earlier also by others there are two options to take Ignite one is on tape and other is on Network that will land on Ignite server.
By Ignite u can take backup of vg00 which can be restored in case ur OS got crashed.
U cannot take Ignite of one server on same server, as its creates the copy of VG00. U need to connect tape drive to same server or in network then only u can take Ignite of the server.
Hope this clear ur query.

Re: How to take ignite backup
It might be possible, but what to do with it?
How to restore?
Burn a lot of DVDs each time?
Better to use a tape!
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: How to take ignite backup
Taking Ignite of same server on same server will be useless.
That cant be used is system gets crashed.
