Ignite Backup and Restore on Virtual Machine
How to take Ignite Backup of a Integrity VItual Machine (11.31) on a tape .
My understanding is that I first need to assign a LTO tape Drive from my host to the IVM. Then take a backup through make_tape_recovery.
and what is the restore plan.Suppose if i want to restore the backup from tape back to that IVM than should I follow the usual procedure which we use to restore on any physical host
ie here by taking the IVM console from host. and following the two step restore procedure.
Please let me know guys.

Re: Ignite Backup and Restore on Virtual Machine
Hi
Ur first point is correct... to take ignite asign the DAT drive to IVM and take Ignite.
Second one... to restore u must add the drive..b4 start then normal process of restore.
Hope this resolves ur query..
