Ignite UX for different subnet and firewall

My Ignite server (10.6.20.176) and new client (10.137.2.100) are on different subnet. There is firewall between them. Need to know what ports i need to open in the firewall and what will be the way of booting from that ignite server. I have tried. If someone has a solution will be great help.

Shell> dbprofile -dn ignite -sip 10.10.10.22 -cip 10.10.20.20 -gip 10.10.20.1 -m 255.255.255.0 -b “/opt/ignite/boot/nbp.efi”

Shell> lanboot select -dn ignite

Re: Ignite UX for different subnet and firewall

This looks a bit strange

Boot file name: ?/opt/ignite/boot/nbp.efi?

could you check this again "?" instead of "

Hope this helps!

Re: Ignite UX for different subnet and firewall

Hi,

There is no problem booting a client from a server on a different subnet, using dbprofile or a boothelper, but trough a firewall it just doesn't make sense. You have to open lots of ports for NFS, and the worst part to boot you need to open bootp, etc. They are very unsecure ports.

Here is a link with info you can check:

Windows?, no thanks
