Ignite and VFS_MOUNTROOTs
Hi,
I am attempting to clone a K260 running 11.00 onto an N4000 via a make_tape_recovery tape.
At the end of the ignite I get the following panic:
$ panic: all VFS_MOUNTROOTs failed: NEED DRIVERS ?????
I re-ignited the N-Class with one of its own make_tape_recovery tapes and everything worked fine, so I am fairly happy that this isn't a hardware issue.
Is there anything fundamentally different between the K and N-Class that would stop the ignite working?

Um yes... pretty much all the hardware.
As a starting point you need to look at what drivers are loaded on the N classes own working boot image and make sure all those are loaded on the K class before you take the ignite backup.
Read the following document for more background:
http://www.docs.hp.com/en/5992-1998/5992-1998.pdf
You do know that 11.00 is out of support don't you?

Re: Ignite and VFS_MOUNTROOTs
K260 can run 32-bit mode. N4000 cannot. Mkae sure that is not the problem.
N4000 will need newer Hardware Enablement patch bundles to run.

Re: Ignite and VFS_MOUNTROOTs
Hello Phil.
Try doing a golden image backup using ignite, and then try to clone again.
