Ignite backup failed

hi ,

I taking ignite backup on superdom SD64B os version 11.23 its getting failed ..logs is below

pax: write : I/O error
pax: A write error has occurred.
WARNING: The pax command returned a non-zero exit status (exit status 1).
ERROR: The find_files command failed (exit status 141).

ERROR: The make_sys_image command failed. The system recovery archive will
not be created.


======= 01/29/09 16:02:09 IST make_tape_recovery completed unsuccessfully


i am using commmand :

make_tape_recovery -Av -a /dev/rmt/0mn -I -x inc_entire=vg00

Shalom,

Probably the /var file system is lacking enough free space to do the pax backup of temporary files or the tape is bad.

Try another tape and try cleanup -c 1 as root to clear some quick space, or use sam to trim your logs

Hi,


can you please post the O/P of the

#ioscan -fnCtape


load a media to the tape freshly and try the following to test the tape write operations.


load the media in the tape, then

#mt -t /dev/rmt/0mn rewind
#mt -t /dev/rmt/0mn status

this should the Drive and Status As Online.


Try the write operation to the tape:


#tar cvf /dev/rmt/0mn /tmp


if all is fine:

#mt -t /dev/rmt/0mn rewind

#make_tape_recovery -v -x inc_entire=vg00 -a /dev/rmt/0mn

Please cleanup the tape or insert a new tape and try again
