Re: Ignite getting hang
What is the error message you are getting ?
Are you taking only vg00 or other vg also ?
did you chack all the connections from tape to server ?

Re: Ignite getting hang
Good day to you !
May I know the exact command that you have been used for your ignite ?
When you found the backup is hanged, what's the status of your LED status on your tape drive ? still green blinking ? any activities on your tape drive ?
Is there any file system on your vg00 besides HP-UX file systems ? Please send your bdf output if possible.
Wait for your update.
Thanks & Regards,
Adi.

Initially I didn't understand what you were trying to do. I thought initially that you were trying to remove the Ignite software off your system.
Anyways, Now I understand that you were trying to create a tape archive of the system.
1. Can you please send the bdf output
2. Did you checked that the tape is in good condition. What does the ioscan command report ? Did you try writing something to the tape using the dd command and tried to retrieve back.
3. what is the exact make_tape_archive command that was run.
Can you please let me know.
Regards,
Raghu
