Posible OS restore methos for V2600 with 11.00

Hi,

This is a questions for a really uptodate/supported system ;D.

I wanted to know a couple of boot for ignite restore questions for a v2600 with hp-ux 11.00

1. Can you lan boot with a v2600 to hook up with the ignite server?.

these are the lan cards I have on the system:

lan       0  0/0/0     btlan6 CLAIMED     INTERFACE    HP A3738A PCI 10/100Base-TX Ultimate Combo
lan       3  1/1/0     gelan  CLAIMED     INTERFACE    HP A4926A PCI 1000Base-SX Adapter
lan       1  2/0/0     btlan6 CLAIMED     INTERFACE    HP A3738A PCI 10/100Base-TX Ultimate Combo
lan       4  2/3/0     gelan  CLAIMED     INTERFACE    HP A4926A PCI 1000Base-SX Adapter

2. If not, I imagine there is no problem booting from tape, after a make_tape_recovery no?

this is the tape I have:

C1537A

3. can I boot from and old 11.00 DVD(sep2002), and use it to boot, and the point it to a the ignite server and do a network ignite restore?

Thanks!

Windows?, no thanks

1) I do not think you can boot over the network from a V class server.  This one post I found seems to support that (though it is dated):

http://h30499.www3.hp.com/t5/System-Administration/Ignite-Software/m-p/2743259

2) Booting from tape is not a problem.

3) I am not sure about this one....give it a try?

The tape looks the way to go.

I can't try with the CD/DVD, I only have 2 of kind in production, that I adopted a couple of months ago, they have uptimes getting close to the 2000 days, and we have to reboot them now. triying to get ready just in case the worst happens..

Windows?, no thanks
