Remove history/already created files of make_net_recovery
make_net_recovery could not read client status file on ignite server, says "permission denied".
I want to remove all previous files related ignite server and client on the server, and to try initial execution.
I want to start as initial make_net_recovery after remove previous files.
Please help and advice how to remove these files.
1. general info.
OS: hp-ux 11.23
settings for ignite client:
start nfs client
mane_net_recovery
settings for ignite server:
define ignite clients and backup directory in /etc/expoerts
apply /etc/exports and start nfs server
2. 1st try
I got "permission denied".
On this time, client directory's owner was sys:root on the server, and
-l macadress was not specified.
3, 2nd try
make_net_recovery was started without permission denied,
but killed by signal 9 because unnecessary nfs setting.
make_net_recovery after "mount -F nfsserver:/var/opt/ignite/recovery/archives/client localdir". Command was successfully executed, but backup file size was increased
more more more..., so I killed ignite processes by 9.
4. 3rd try
After shutdown ignite client and server, I tried by valid way.
<ignite server's settings>
#cat /etc/exports is
/var/opt/ignite/clients -anon=2
/var/opt/ignite/recovery/archives/<client> -anon=2,access=<client>
# exportfs -av
# /sbin/init.d/nfs.server stop
# /sbin/init.d/nfs.server start
# /var/opt/ignite/recovery/archives/<client>'s owner is bin:bin
<ignite client's settings>
# /sbin/init.d/nfs.client stop
# /sbin/init.d/nfs.client start
# make_net_recovery -Av -s <server> -x inc_entire=/dev/vg00
-a <server>:/var/opt/ignite/recovery/archives/<client>
-l <valid on board macaddress>
But make_net_recovery caught "permission denied".
I defined following line in /etc/dfs/dfstab and started mane_net_recovery.
share -F nfs -o sec=sys,anon=2,rw=/var/opt/ignite/recovery/archives/<client>
I got another message from make_net_recovery.
It searched client_status file in /var/opt/ignite/client_mnt,
dis not access /var/opt/ignite/recovery/archives/<client> directory.

Re: Remove history/already created files of make_net_recovery
Hi mura-kei7,
Can you please give me the following command output from Ignite server & client
From Ignite server
********************
# uname -a
# bdf
# showmount -e
# swlist Ignite-UX
# swlist -l product | grep -i Ignite
# ls -ld /var/opt/ignite/recovery/archives/<client>
Permission should be like as belows
drwxr-xr-x 2 bin bin 96 Jul 3 07:13 /var/opt/ignite/recovery/archives/<client>
Then stop and start all nfs related service in the server
# /sbin/init.d/nfs.client stop
# /sbin/init.d/nfs.server stop
# /sbin/init.d/nfs.core stop
# /sbin/init.d/nfs.core start
# /sbin/init.d/nfs.server start
# /sbin/init.d/nfs.client start
From Ignite clinet
*******************
# uname -a
# swlist Ignite-UX
# swlist -l product | grep -i Ignite
Then stop and start all nfs related service in the client
# /sbin/init.d/nfs.client stop
# /sbin/init.d/nfs.core stop
# /sbin/init.d/nfs.core start
# /sbin/init.d/nfs.client start
Then run the below command from clinet
# /opt/ignite/bin/make_net_recovery -Av -s <server> -x inc_entire=/dev/vg00
One more thing you have mentioned that "I defined following line in /etc/dfs/dfstab and started make_net_recovery. share -F nfs -o sec=sys,anon=2,rw=/var/opt/ignite/recovery/archives/<client>". Actually from HP-UX 11i v3 onwards we need to edit /etc/dfs/dfstab entry. So if your ignite server running on HP-UX 11i v2 then please remove all the entrites from /etc/dfs/dfstab and unshare all the directories (unshareall). And if your Ignite server running on HP-UX 11i v3 then remove all the entries from /etc/exports and then edit /etc/dfs/dfstab file and add the following entry for /var/opt/ignite/clients & /var/opt/ignite/recovery/archives/<client> directory.
share -F nfs -o anon=2 /var/opt/ignite/clients
share -F nfs -o sec=sys,anon=2,rw=/var/opt/ignite/recovery/archives/<client>
Next share the directory and ensure NFS server daemons are running:
# shareall
OR
# shareall -F nfs
For unshare all the directory
# unshareall
