Used Ports in PA-RISC ignite-ux

Hi,

Does anyone could say me, what ports used PA-RISC ignite to ask for open them in a firewall?

hi,

for ignite , you must open tftp and nfs if you use server ignite

Shalom,

You may, depending on network configuration need the r protocols, remesh, et al open as well. Your firewall people will love that.

see /etc/services for a list. checking aginst /etc/inetd.conf

netstat -an | more

That will show you what is listening.

This is an impressive list on page 5...
To many open ports if you ask me.
You definitely need tftp (69), bootp (67,68), portmap (111), swagent (2121) and nfs (2049).
To get NFS through your firewall (and not upset the firewall guys), you need to install PHNE_34662.
This will give you the possibility to hardcode port configuration for lockd, mountd and statd, e.g.:
LOCKD_PORT=4045
MOUNTD_PORT=4046
STATD_PORT=4047

You are hopefully able to connect to the system via GSP/MP/iLO. In that case you don't need any r-tools, ssh and such.
FTP is not necessary for ignite.
