ignite server problem to restore
hi,
i need plz your help.
i have an rp server configured as ignite server and one rx server as client.
my goal is to configure an ignite server in order to take an ignite image over the network. and test the restore process.
my ignite configuration is as follows:
Enable tftp and bootpd:
inetd -cinstl_adm
instl_adm -f instl_adm.config
mkdir -p /var/opt/ignite/recovery/archives/test
chown bin:bin /var/opt/ignite/recovery/archives/test <------ where test is the name of the client server.
vi /etc/exports
/var/opt/ignite/clients -anon=2
/var/opt/ignite/recovery/archives/test -anon=2,access=test
exportfs –av
showmount -a
showmount -e
vi /etc/dfs/dfstab
share -F nfs -o anon=2 /var/opt/ignite/clients
share -F nfs -o anon=2 /var/opt/ignite/recovery/archives/test
# shareall
7- add ignite client to /etc/hosts and also the ip of client:
Client setup:
.Run the make_net_recovery command from client
# /opt/ignite/bin/make_net_recovery -Av -s uv3
i get a file "2012-04-19,02:22" 2.5 GB on /var/opt/ignite/recovery/archives/test/. but i notice that there is no depot file.
when i try to restore the rx server(client), i received the following error:
* Reading data from source...
ERROR: Unable to access the depot
"/var/opt/ignite/recovery/archives/test/2012-04-19,02:22". Make
sure that the depot exists or if the depot resides on removable
media, make sure the media is properly inserted and mounted.
please i need you help to proceed:
is it recommeded to create a depot file on "/var/opt/ignite/recovery/archives/test/", and if yes how can we create this file?
thanks in advance for your help.

Re: ignite server problem to restore
Hi,
To perform the Ignite-UX network restore on a client from its backup doesnt require any depot creation.
But if you choose to install a client from Ignite-UX server using a golden image or fresh HP-UX 11i OE media, then you would need to create a Software Depot on the Ignite-UX Server.
I am not sure how you are trying to restore from Ignite-UX server, I would recommend you to refer the HP Ignite-UX Guided Troubleshooting from the below link which has the step by step instructions to Ignite-UX Server configuration and restoration.
Click here to view HP Ignite-UX Guided Troubleshooting
To verify Ignite-UX Server configuration: Visit the above link, go to "Configuration / How-To Guide" -> Choose "Ignite-UX Server Side Configuration".
To perform Ignite-UX recovery : From the above link, go to "Configuration / How-To Guide" -> Choose "System Recovery" -> Choose "Ignite-UX Network Recovery" to view the steps to perform a network recovery from Ignite-UX server.
