Re: make_tape_recovery completed unsuccessfully
Hi,
# strings /etc/lvmtab
in this file is the link between Vg and disk or disks.
Thanks,
Jesus

Re: make_tape_recovery completed unsuccessfully
With the information you posted, it is not possible to tell if the disk /dev/dsk/c2t1d0 is good or bad. However, your LVM configuration may need some work.
Each LVM PV has a PVID assigned to it at the time you run "pvcreate" on it. Each VG also has a VGID assigned at the time "vgcreate" was used. When a PV is assigned to a particular VG, the VGID is written to the PV header too.
Now, your current LVM configuration says /dev/dsk/c2t1d0 should be a part of vg00... but apparently it has a VGID that does not match the rest of vg00, or it has no VGID at all.
What's the output of these commands?
pvdisplay -v /dev/dsk/c2t1d0 #this may be very long vgdisplay -v vg00
Hmm... your disk /dev/dsk/c2t0d0 contains partitions (slices), so it's an Itanium system. The MirrorDisk procedures for Itanium vg00 are subtly different from PA-RISC equivalents: I would have expected the vg00 physical volume to be /dev/dsk/c2t1d0s2 instead of plain /dev/dsk/c2t1d0, if it's supposed to be a mirror of the main system disk. I would need to see the output of the above-mentioned pvdisplay/vgdisplay commands to fully understand the current configuration.
