Damaged ram or whatelse?
I have put 4 memory dimms of 2gb
on my rx2620 server, the others 8 slots are
1gb
I follow the correct procedure 1quad of 2gb,and others 3 quad of
1gb
But only 1gb ram are seen, the 2gb slots are see..empty!

Re: Damaged ram or whatelse?
Assuming you are using the correct parts it can be a contact problem since the slots were empty for many years. Try to plug the dimms in several times.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Damaged ram or whatelse?
A single bad DIMM will deactivate all 4 DIMMs in the quad. The logs may show this.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Damaged ram or whatelse?
You can capture MP log and DIMM information, then we can check to see if you are using correct DIMMs for rx2620.
1. Type Cntl-b
2. MP> sl -f -nc
3. Type cm
4. MP:CM> df -all -nc
If you know the DIMM product number you have purchased, let us know. It would help to understand your problem. Not all 2Gb dimms are supported on the rx2620 server. See quickspecs for detail about the supported memory options. 2G DIMM product supported with rx2620 is AB228A.
