HP Bl860c i2 Memory checks

Hi all,

Recently we bought 4 modules of memory for the BL860c i2 server, but the memory that the supplier sold us are not part no. of standard HP Part. number, the things is that i need to test the new memory in the server.

And check if this memory can cause any problem in the server.

Server: Hp Integrity BL860c i2.

OS: HP-UX 11v3.

Regards..

The new one is M393B1K70CH0-CH9.

Standard HP P/N:

AM328A - HP BL8x0c i2 16GB (2x8GB) PC3-10600 Registered CAS 9 Memory Kit

Thanks.

Re: HP Bl860c i2 Memory checks

This seems to be Samsung memory that hasn't been relabeled by HP.

Info here:

Whether this will work in the blade is a good question...

Re: HP Bl860c i2 Memory checks

Somehow I doubt if this memory supports the systems features like chipspare/chipkill ...

Consider to ask the vendor for supported chips.

Re: HP Bl860c i2 Memory checks

Hi,

We have seen senarios on Proliant and Proliant Blades wherein same model of dimms are not recognized during POST (Power on Self Test) however are seen once the system is booted up.

We in HP do not recommend the use of dimms that are bought extenrnally for the same reason.

Best Regards,

Prashanth
