Issue with HBA installed on ia64 hp Integrity BL860c i2
I have an issue on a ia64 hp Integrity BL860c i2 the HP-UX VERSION is B.11.31 64 Bit the HBA is a HP BLc Emulex LPe1205-HP 8Gb FC dual port. I found the next warning:
Dec 2 13:22:36 qrmtest vmunix: WARNING : fclp - Arbitrated Loop topology detect
ed on mezzanine FC port: /dev/fclp2, refer to HP customer advisory: c02985353 fo
r details.
This warning just appear in one server from the enviroment and make reference about the way of storage make interconnection, but this server dont has attached storage.
I download the customer advisory, but dont help me. The advisory makes reference about Pass Thru interconnections and my enviroments is attached to a Virtual Connect.
Please anyone has a idea about this warning???
Thanks

Re: Issue with HBA installed on ia64 hp Integrity BL860c i2
If you dont have direct attached storage and the FC port is attached to a SAN switch then you should be OK in regards to what the advisory is stating. However, the message states that it has detected an Arbitrated Loop topology on that port, so it is something you should check on.
View the status of the port using the command fcmsutil /dev/xxxx (specifying the port - /dev/fclp2?)

Re: Issue with HBA installed on ia64 hp Integrity BL860c i2
Compare it to the other ports you have. I imagine you are expecting PTTOPT_FABRIC? Also, login to the switch and check the status of the port on that end.
You mention Virtual Connect, but I dont have any experience with fibre channel VC so not sure what to expect, but you could login to the VCM and check port status there as well.
