RX2660

I installed HP UX 11i V2 in HP Server RX2660 and it was working then today it won't boot... the CO live console is empty. The SL log's last entry says Fatal: BOOT_NOT_DETECTED. The system health light is flashing red, no other LED light is lit, besides the power button. There does not appear to be anymore error lights or log entries. I tried the EFI boot disk but to no avail. Also tried to reset and boot but Could you please help?

Here follows the SYSREV for info:

MP F.02.025
BMC 05.26
EFI:ROM A 07.14, ROM B 07.14
SYSTEM: ROM A 07.15, ROM B 07.15, BOOT ROM A
PDH:50.07

Thank you

Re: RX2660

What does this show (from EFI shell):

Shell> reconnect -r

Shell> map -r

Shell> devtree

Hope this helps!

Re: RX2660

Hi

It looks like HW error. LEDs means different things....

Re: RX2660

When you view the SL menu are any of the logs full? If so, use the C command to clear them and then try an AC line reset.

View the System Event and Forward Progress logs for anything useful.

View the VFP...does it indicate the system is even powered on?

Use the PS command to view state of power supplies and fans.

If no logs at all are being logged, then the problem becomes a bit difficult to troubleshoot as a system board or even a CPU could be faulty.

If you dont have a service contract on this system, try getting the system to a basic config (one CPU, one DIMM pair, no I/O cards, etc) and if that works, build it back up one part at a time.

Good luck!

Re: RX2660

Normally this error is seen when there is issue with the basic IO of the system. Check if there were any addition of cards or loose connection etc.

Its best to log a HW case with HP support to troubleshoot & replace HW. You can log the case with ITRC link http://www13.itrc.hp.com/service/mcm/homepageRequest.do

Re: RX2660

It might be a HW issue but I have to confirm before I do go forward for replacement. How can i know which HW is faulty.. There are no LEDS lit on the Diagnostic Panel however i noticed the SAS LED at the back panel is fixed amber and there are no activity on the two PCI LAN Adapters and the FiberChannel Adapter.

BTW find attached the latest SL

Please advise

Re: RX2660

The system does not start at all, could be a bad system board or cpu.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.
