Re: RX2660

I think Rick was referring the P400i (embedded) controller and not the P400 add-in card.

Here's the installation guide:

Re: RX2660

It says to use the pci-e slot on the system board. Do you know if a p400 card will work correctly from the PCI card cage?

Thanks

Re: RX2660

I don't expect it to work in the card cage as all of the references to this card (including the installation guide, if I remember rightly) say to use the dedicated slot that's built onto the main logic board.

Remember that battery backed cache too, otherwise you'll have problems...

Re: RX2660

I must be missing something. I installed the PCI-e expansion board. Installe my P400 card (405831-001) and battery. I cannot install OS to this so I can use it as a boot device. I can setup my drives I have installed fine on the raid card. But when I boot to the OS install dvd it does not show any drives. Any suggestions?

Thank you

Re: RX2660

Perhaps something to do with HBA vs RAID mode and a need to run saupdate? This:

http://bizsupport1.austin.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=c02540772〈=en&cc=us&taskId=101&prodSeriesId=4186428&prodTypeId=3709945&printver=true

discusses the i2 Blades, but if this is a newly purchase p400, especially if it was purchased as other than the expected bundle to go into the motherboard PCIe slot, perhaps it has the newer firmware. (Although I cannot recall if the i2 blades have p400s or p410s).

It might be good to fire-up the support contract and get some help from the Response Center.

Re: RX2660

Check your version of HP-UX to make sure it supports the option. You may have to use a newer version.

Re: RX2660

You need to have HP-UX B.11.31.0709 or later - what version do you have?

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: RX2660

This is the initial release - too old.

You need September 2007 minimum.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.
