Would like to fill by adding 4 GB DIMMS in combination with the 8Gb DImms.

What is the recommended way to do this ?

thanks in advance,

Re: RX7640 Adding Memory to Existing Configuration

Saw this in a post for the 6600.  Is it similar ?

thx.

So i have to intsall the memory as follows?

4GB Modules

side0 (0A, 0B,0C,0D), side1 (0A, 0B,0C,0D), side0 (1A, 1B,1C,1D)

2GB Modules

side1 (1A, 1B,1C,1D), side0 (2A, 2B,2C,2D), side1 (2A, 2B,2C,2D)

Re: RX7640 Adding Memory to Existing Configuration

Hi Manoj,

Memory Loading rules to be followed:

1) Memory shold be installed in Pairs

2) Larger memory modules first then smaller memory modules

3) The memory loading order would be 0A,0B then 1A, 1B .......7A,7B

Re: RX7640 Adding Memory to Existing Configuration

Hi Joe,

I would recommend to even read the Memory Loading Rules and Performance Tuning Guidelines in the Configuration chapter of the QuickSpecs for this system, as it has more details and examples.
E.g., as you have both cells in a single partition, you should load memory equally across the cell boards for best performance.

Click here to access HP Integrity rx7640 Server QuickSpecs.

Kind Regards

Holger
